Stacey's Haircut

This morning I was busy with Brandon and Stacey went to get a toy. After a little bit had gone by, I realized that she was taking a bit too long and it was awfully quiet. So I yelled down the steps for her and got no answer. When I went down she was laying on the bed covered up. I asked what she was doing and she said she wanted to go to sleep.

It was then that I noticed the lock of her beautiful hair on the pillow next to her. I had her sit up and she had cut the side of her hair to fall just below her ear, the other side was cut as well but was a bit longer.

It wasn't until I was getting her ready to go to get her hair fixed that I noticed that she had also taken a chunk out of the back of her head.

They did very well but now my little girl's hair is so short! It hasn't been that short since before she had her first haircut when she had no hair!

At least it will grow back!

This is what she looked like yesterday before we went to see Santa.

This is what she looked like when she got done.

This is what she looked like after getting her hair "fixed"

(Sorry this one is sideways I can't rotate on this computer)

You can still see the chunk in the back, they said that if they tried to layer it to hide that she would look like a boy.

But if you brush her hair just right then you can hide it pretty well.

Adventures in Shopping.

5 days left. It hit me last night that Christmas Day is TUESDAY! This is the last weekend before Christmas. It was kind of one of those Wham-Bam-Thank-you-Ma'am moments.

Looking at my list of things I still needed to do 12 days before Christmas and what I have to do now... I really got a lot done in the 2 days I had off!

I have decided that we will make cookies on Christmas Eve. It still looks like I will be working though I have no clue as to what time. But the store closes at 6 so I won't be working later than that.

Still no Christmas cards but like I said I don't think I'm doing them this year.

Tuesday night I took Stacey out and we got her a dress and Brandon an outfit. Wednesday I cut Stacey's hair and tried to get pictures. Tried being the key word. Stacey is really good about getting pictures done, Brandon on the other hand won't sit still for a second!

Wednesday afternoon we took the kids to see Santa.

Wednesday night my parents watched the kids and Nick and I went shopping. We got everything for the kids except for the one thing that I wanted to get for Stacey. So I dropped Nick off and we got the kids in bed asleep and I went back out. HA!

I drove to 3 different stores and they didn't have it, (That doesn't include the 2 that Nick and I had already gone to) So finally at almost 2am I decided to not drive but to call.

The very first store I called said that they had 1 left! I couldn't believe my luck, I was doing a happy dance the entire way there. I walked back and had to find someone and as soon as I said "Littlest Pet Shop" she knew what I was there for, so she went behind the counter and when she turned around...

She had the wrong play set!!!!! It was the only one that they had, its one I had looked at, but it wasn't the one I so desperately wanted to find.

They were out of that play set though so I went ahead and got it. By this time it was almost 3am and I was ready to go home. I guess I will have to look for the other one after Christmas.

When we got to the mall Santa was on a break and they were giving out buzzers like you get when you are waiting at a restauraunt. It was about 40 min before it was our turn, so we went walking the mall. Brandon fell asleep just before our beeper went off, and was so sound asleep he didn't even wake up when being handed off.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

This morning I woke up to a lot of snow, but by the time I got the kids up, made breakfast, and got them dressed to go outside, it was sleeting. I still managed to get a couple of shots in.

The batteries in my camera died so I got some shots with my phone.

This is really going to be fun to try to drive in. And tonight when I get off work when all the wet spots freeze, YEA!

We are never prepared for what we expect.

Ok so there are only 12 days till Christmas.

I haven't even begun to do my shopping yet. Nick is going out on Friday, so I have the kids.

We got the chocolate chips so that we can make cookies.

I haven't even done anything as far as Christmas Cards, and I don't think I will be this year either.

I haven't even bought a Christmas outfit for Brandon.

I still have to get my kids Christmas pics. Stacey needs a haircut first.

We haven't taken the kids to see Santa.

I think I need the next week off! I'm off Friday but am working Saturday and Sunday. Nick is working 6 days next week and I have no idea what my schedule is going to be like. I do know it looks like I will be working Christmas Eve.

So much to do and so little time!

How many days left?

A countdown for everything you can imagine! And these are just the tip of the iceburg!

Its the most wonderful time of the year. . .

I love Christmas time, always have. I can remember when we were little decorating the tree, fighting over who got to hang each special ornament, and where it went. Christmas songs playing on the radio, a nice big cup of hot chocolate.

Now as my kids are getting older, and seeing the excitement in their eyes. Stacey exclaiming as we drive down the highway, "Look mommy, a Christmas tree! Look at the beautiful lights!"

Getting older you see the holidays differently, but it will always be "the most wonderful time of the year."

That 4-letter word that starts with S!

SNOW!!!

We had the first snowfall of the year last night. When I woke up the grass and the cars were covered but that was about it. It will probably be gone by the time I get out with my camera.

So I thought I would post some pictures of the first snowfall from last year. And if the snow is still there when I take the kids out later, I'll post some new pics later.

That was actually Brandon's first real snow experience.

No sleep

Well it is 4:30 am and I have yet to get any sleep. I was going to go to bed at around 1 but Brandon was still up, and he ended up getting sick. So my night has consisted of trying to keep him quiet while trying to clean up his highchair. He woke my dad up when he decided to bang the coffee table doors.

Then when I get that done and decide to sit down for a min, he gets sick again. Hasn't really been acting sick, just a bit fussy and coughs a little bit before he vomits, but then he is all happy and wanting to play again.

He isn't running a fever or anything so I guess it was just something he ate. I managed to get him to sleep about 1/2 an hour ago. Now I have to try to move him to his bed - HA!

I really hope he is better when he wakes up.

Did I hear that right?

I was listening to the radio on the way to work the other night and I heard a commercial for Ryland Homes. The jingle is set to We Will Rock You - Queen.

Instead of; We will, we will, rock you. It was Ryland Homes will Rock you.

However I swear it was saying Ryland Homes will ROB you!

1st Pics

I have I have been going thru my CDs (I really need to get them labeled as to what is on them) and I thought I would post with some of the first pictures I took with my digital camera. These were literally taken the day I got my camera.

In these pictures Stacey was 2 1/2 and Brandon was 10 months. It is so hard to believe how much they have grown since then.
