Capture Cincinnati '09

Its that time of year again! The Capture Cincinnati contest kicks off this weekend! Be sure to register and vote, then look for the book!

Even only hoping to get 1 picture in the book, I got the cover last year! I can't wait to see the outcome this year. Again I'm just hoping that MAYBE one of my pictures will make it - but who knows, its just fun to enter!

Changing this blog.

I'm changing this from a 365 project (since I couldn't keep it up) to

A Year in Pictures 2009

There will be times that I post a picture every day but I won't feel bad for the days I miss. :)

Madison Update

Well Maddie had her Dr appt this afternoon. Last week she was 12lbs 12oz. Now she is 14lbs!!!!

This means she is gaining so what we are doing is working! I have noticed a HUGE difference in the amount that she spits up, so the Zantac is working.

Just wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know how the appointment went. I'll post more later.

Maddie Update 2

Just a small update. Its only been 2 days but we can really tell a difference. She has been getting squash and she loves it. It seems to be OK on her tummy too. Will update again after her appointment on Wed.

Play Ball!

Stacey had her 2nd volleyball game tonight! This time it didn't threaten rain so I actually took my camera.

Volleyball

The ball looks so HUGE compared to her!

She may be tiny but she is ready if that ball comes her way!

Maddie Update 1

Well this morning Madison had her first taste of cereal. She loved it!

Or at least she seemed to. She only ate about 1/4 of the small about I made when she started screaming and stretching her legs out like her tummy was in pain.

I called the Dr to let him know what was going on and he said to try giving her baby food such as squash and applesauce, to bypass the cereal for now.

Other than that she seems to be doing great. She is drinking 8 oz of formula just 2 hours after nursing so it looks like I'm not producing enough, which is something we suspected anyway.

I can take her in Monday if I want but I'm going to see how the weekend goes.

My poor baby girl.

I ended up taking Madison to the Dr. today. Now that the weather is getting warmer she has been wearing lighter clothes, and Nick and I noticed she seemed a bit too thin. You can feel her ribs through her outfit. After her bath I let her lay on the towel and play instead of getting her dressed right away. It was scary how skinny she is.

I had an appointment scheduled for her for June (her shots are a month behind, so I just made her 6 month appointment for the next time we could get her shots.) After we started noticing how skinny she is I moved it up to next week, but the more I thought about it the more worried I got. So I called this morning.

Her last appointment was March 23. She weighted 13lbs 4oz and was 24 inches long. She has lost 8oz since then, but she is now 25 1/4 inches.

He put her on Zantac for reflux, I'm supplementing with formula that has rice starch added (Similac Sensitive R.S and Enfimil A.R Lipil.) Also she is getting solids twice a day.

I was planning to start her on solids this month anyway now that she is 6 months, but the formula and the Zantac were big changes.

Hopefully she improves and quickly, I call the Dr. tomorrow to let him know how she is adjusting to everything and she goes back in 1 week.

I'll post updates as I can.
